Position- Head, Process Development and
Manufacturing, Gene Therapies

Nutshell of the Role:

The Head of Gene Therapy Process Development and Manufacturing is responsible for providing technical support to day-to-day operations, setting
strategies to maximize yield and capacity as well as fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to ensure the supply of gene therapy products for clinical trials and commercial set-up.

This individual is expected to lead the PD teams in terms of evaluation and development of new technologies that enhance the production of plasmids, Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) and
Lentiviral (LV) vector beyond current
industry-observed levels.

The role leads the design and execution of proof-of-concept studies and process development for further evaluation and
Scaleup/manufacturability assessment.

Key Accountabilities:

1. To lead the plasmid, AAV and LV process
   development teams on day-to day planning,
   managing the activities in cross-functional manner
   to have processes established and developed for
   tech transfer to manufacturing team.
2. To recruit and build a manufacturing team
3. To lead the facility operations, including facility
   start-up, equipment purchase, qualification and
   validation activities
4. To lead the manufacturing team to implement
   the manufacturing process into the facility &
   organize the manufacturing activities to meet
   project timeline

   Desired Experience and Qualification:
   M.Sc. + PhD. in Life Sciences with 18+ years’
   experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology
   industry in a process development or
   manufacturing function
